Casey & WylieThis was my first time going to a dog training class and I found the experience to be very helpful! I would encourage this class for anyone with a new dog, new to dogs, or just wants a more focused setting to deliberately work on training.
Over the 6 week session the trainers will work with you and your dog at a pace that is appropriate. They focus on identifying key areas your dog needs to work on and allowing for a ideal environment to work on it. My dog Wylie is very distracted with other dogs around, being able to go through the basics with her in this controlled setting (with other dogs around) really helped see the areas I need to improve on.
The trainers were very helpful, friendly, and clearly wanted to see you and your dog succeed. They were happy to share trusted online resources and tips from their own experiences which I found very encouraging.
Anand & BrodyWe signed up our 6 month Labradoodle for Good Boy Basics. The class was very intimate and allowed for lots of 1 on 1 with each dog in a good space. Our trainer (Suzanne) was excellent and very competent and flexible in her approach to training. Although we have taken puppy classes in the past, we still still learned some great new methods and we were reminded of a few that we had forgotten over the years. Our instructor also made herself available for after-class insights and advice throughout the 6 weeks. Overall, an excellent value for the money and a great starting point for our pup. We will look for additional classes as our pup gets older and we consider advanced training in areas of need. Highly recommended!
Paula & GonzoI’d like to thank Cassie for helping me to build confidence in Gonzo. As a former street dog, he was very skittish and difficult to control on the leash. He’s learnt a lot and is becoming a very confident and loving dog. I now have the tools available to continue his training. Thank you Cassie!
Nickie & ChesterI owe a lot to Jenn. We started working with her to help Chester overcome his anxiety and confidence problems. Jenn went out of her way to arrange special training sessions targeted towards building Chester’s confidence. We continued into agility with her to keep building his confidence. The dog I have now bears little resemblance to the dog I brought to see Jenn. She has strengthened my bond with my dog and helped him develop into an adjusted, happy dog and my best friend.
Jodi & MaceI just want to say how much myself and my dog (mace) enjoyed taking lessons from Sue Jobse. She was incredibly knowledgeable about dog training as she has done the “alpha” style of training and realized it just doesn’t work. Mace always wanted to go to class and I saw improvement after one class. Response time, recall and name recognition improved so much. I would have no issues telling anyone to talk to Sue for dog training questions or concerns.
Laura & HatchetMy name is Hatchet! Mumma says I have two speeds: asleep and go go go! My favorite things are running, sniffing, jumping, and going to school.
I luv Jenn; when I see her I get so excited I can barely keep my butt on the ground. But I know I have to sit in order to get her attention. She helps Mumma with the hard work part of school where I get to have fun! The humans use words like ‘deference’ and ‘obedience’ – how boring!! I like it better when Mumma says sit, stay, here, ramp, tunnel, jump, together and a bunch other weird human words she’s named the tricks I’ve learned. When she says these words it means I get pets, attention, a tug or treats!
I’m really cute but Jenn doesn’t let me get away with NOTHIN! She has high expectations but sets me and Mumma up for success – her classes are structured with clear objectives she is prepared and organized and engages with students (two and four legged) in different ways of learning. She’s suuuuper patient! By the end of our sessions classes feel like we are one big pack (Mumma says that’s relationship building). Jenn keeps us on track with homework (she notices if we don’t) and remembers to keep things light – Mumma and me have lots of laughs!
By the time school is over I’m passed out in the backseat of the car while Mumma is driving home. You should take Jenn’s classes! She’s more amazing than tuna-fudge (and that’s saying A LOT)!
